It's been a while since I've posted anything new. Nov/Dec holidays were a blur of family commitments and visits. Baking, shopping, wrapping, decorating, hosting family, etc. Jan brought me a medical issue. Sigh. And all the while I've been working full-time, since there's a national shortage of subs, and many young teachers have their kids in day-care--meaning they get Co-Vid, bring it home, and suddenly the teachers are texting/calling me asking me to take their classes for a week! Sometimes I've had 3 or more teachers asking at the same time! If I could clone myself, I'd be making bank!
Recently I read of a real-life love story that has already lasted for 50 years--with a HEA not guaranteed, but then only in romance novels are they, right? My blog on the 16th on my regular post at the Sweet'n'sexy divas site tells all about it! sweetnsexydivas.blogspot.com/2022/02/a-love-story-right-out-of-romance.html
I'm also still reading, so I've got a few new reviews going up on Goodreads. Here are some blurbs and links for reviews I wrote for Lisabet Sarai, who got the rights back from some of her steamy stories, and is republishing them all with new covers as quickly as she can!
Rajasthani Moon
Lisabet Sarai's very hot stories require a cold shower after reading. This is the story of Lady Cecily Harrowsmith, a female agent for the queen of England. She's sent to investigate why a certain small country in the far east isn't dependent on her majesty's largess in supplying the energy source the rest of the world depends on. When she arrives, she is first kidnapped and forced to have sex with a handsome bandit. Then she's taken to the palace where she learns her abuser is Prajan, the bastard half-brother of the Rajah, Amir. The brothers set out to learn who she really is, and why she's in their country. Along the way, she's subjected to torture of such a sublime type, that she can't stop herself from having mind-blowing climaxes--repeatedly. There is a sub-plot about a curse on the half-brother, placed on him by Amir's mother, who was not happy about her husband's philandering ways. Sarita is the consort of Amir, and at first, she dislikes Cecily. They become friends after Cecily saves her from a bestial threat.
Before the story ends, there are sexual antics that will have you shaking your head in disbelief--can he/she/they really do that? Is that even physically possible? Don't ask. Just keep reading, and enjoy the ride--like the one Cecily gets on a modified pommel horse. You can't stop it, so you might as well enjoy it! (Note, this book got me hooked on Steampunk!)
Ms. Sarai turns the trope of mousy young virgin female with low-self-esteem being seduced by confident rich man, on its head! And I loved it! In her book, Theo is the virgin--a borderline tech genius with poor social skills and no self-confidence. When Rachel, the gazillionaire, meets him, she feels drawn to him. It takes her a while to figure out why, but when she does, the steaminess of the story ramps up! Seems that our boy Theo has always fantasized about being a dominant, and has porn that shows him how to tie women up, and how to use BDSM to enhance the pleasure for both participants. But he's still a virgin. And Rachel has been searching for a Dom to make her happy for a long time. There are issues for them to work out, but that's the case with any relationship. One of my favorite scenes is early in the book, when Rachel takes him into a hardware store, to get some "supplies." Snicker. Read this book! You'll be glad you did.
Enjoy!
