The Charity Sunday blog hop is for readers to leave comments, and I will donate money for each comment, to my chosen charity. This month I'm choosing the Southern Poverty Law Center, (The SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen inter-sectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people,) who will get at least $2.00 for each comment left here. I will also donate $2.00 for each comment to NARAL. I will donate the money in three weeks. So comment before the 17th of July.
This excerpt is from Two For Tuesday, a stand-alone book about two people who fall in love while they're in college. They've had a fight, and as happens when you're in love, they're making up in the usual way.
Marcus leaned forward dejectedly. "I've tried to be an understanding lover, but I'm sorry, Melanie. I don't think I can do this any more."
"Do what?"
"I can't go on sharing you with any Tom, Dick, or Harry that you pick up for the night. I don't want to make you choose. So maybe I should just leave now."
"Why?" Her voice was shrill with fear. "Don't you want me anymore?"
Marcus moved closer before he grabbed both sides of her face with his hands again, forcing her to look deeply into his eyes. "I will always want you. I told you, you marked my soul the first time you touched me. But I can't share you anymore. It's not enough for me to be one of your men anymore. I still don't have any more time to spend with you. But knowing that you are with other guys is becoming more torture than I can take. I can't think about the work I have to do, because I'm wondering who you're with, and if you are enjoying him more than you enjoy me. This thing with Bill is just the last straw-- but it's been coming on for a while now. I want you to belong to just me, but I feel like a shit because you never offered to do that. I can't ask you to marry me because you've told me you never want to get married. I can't ask you to not see other men because that's not part of our arrangement. But I can't keep on like this. And I don't know what the hell to do about it."
He sighed. Responding to the desolate look on her face, he bent his face to kiss her--to kiss away any pain he was causing her. The next instant they were tearing each other's clothes off, and frantically grabbing and clutching at each other, kissing, biting, squeezing, breathing heavily, hearts pounding with passion not to be denied. Once they were done stripping each other, he pulled her up to straddle his lap, and she rubbed her hard nipples against his chest, then licked and bit him, claiming him for herself.
"You see?" He groaned. "You always do that to me. I can't even think about another woman. There's only you for me." He spread her legs and pushed into her, without checking to see if she was wet enough to take him. It was a tight fit, but he was determined.
It only took a few thrusts before she threw her head back, screaming out an orgasm.
Triumphant, Marcus ploughed repeatedly into her, all the while muttering. "See? You're my girl. You belong to me. I make you scream. I make you come. You're mine!"
Another wave of pleasure hit her--she screamed again. That last scream did it. Marcus slammed himself into her so hard he knew there would be bruises on both of them. He howled, as his orgasm gave him the release he needed--of his passion, his anger, and his frustration. Everything else left him then. The only emotion he felt, as always when he held her in his arms afterwards, was love. He would die to protect this woman. His woman.
Gradually Melanie's breathing slowed and her heartbeat returned to normal. Suddenly she jerked her head up to glare into his eyes. "Hopefully I'm far enough into my cycle that I won't get pregnant from that."
"Baby, I don't even care anymore." Marcus panted as he spoke.
"But I do!" Her voice was angry.
The sound of a key in the lock made them both start, then jump up, trying to race into her room before her roommate opened the door. Marcus was taller and quicker. Melanie tripped over the coffee table and fell onto all fours, as her roommate walked in, talking and looking backwards at the guy she was leading into the apartment.
"Jesus, you guys!" she yelled, turning to look at what made the guy’s eyes widen and his lips twitch in amusement. "Get a room. Get into a room. It's not fucking Tuesday. Can't I ever get laid around here?"
"Ooops! Sorry." Melanie pushed herself upright and staggered, limping, picking up clothes along the way, holding them in front of her, heading in the direction of her room. "We'll be out of the way in no time. Marcus, let's go get some food."
Laughing, Marcus reached over to help her walk, and they retired to her room to put on the clothes they had torn off and thrown all around the living room. He grabbed the beers once they were dressed and on their way out of the apartment. They finished them as they walked to their favorite Mexican restaurant.

Note: Melanie and Marcus always use condoms. Except for this one time, when they were too emotional to remember. That's how mistakes are made.
