I never had any dates in high school-I was convinced it was because I was so hideous that no boy wanted to date me. Turns out they were actually afraid of me because I was what they called "the curve-buster"-- since I always got straight As everyone hated me for that. So I never got flowers or anything for VD until I was in college, and my first year away at school, flowers were delivered to my dorm room...for me! Turns out either Dad or my brother decided to let me know I was loved. Since Dad never gave flowers to my Mom(to be fair, she said dead flowers depressed her, reminded her of funerals), and my brother wasn't yet dating, I never did find out whose idea it was. But I felt loved and cherished those flowers until the petals all fell out!
